The Doe Run Company is seeking a Crusher Operator to crush stone or rock according to specified criteria so it can be sent to the next step in the production process. This position is located at Brushy Creek Underground in Boss, MO.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • 5S/Lean manufacturing certification preferred.
  • Environmental safety and health rules and regulations training.
  • Task training
  • One to three years of related experience, including the following:
    • Experience operating a crusher, small loader, and overhead crane.
    • Use of water hose, shovel, and hand drill.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical exertion; required to use hand tools, climb ladders, and shovel muck.
  • Minor mechanical skills to tighten, lubricate, and change small parts.

Responsibilities:

  • Crush daily production tons into 6 inch minus rock.
  • Complete pre-shift inspection and service crusher, feeder and all downstream equipment in order to deliver crushed ore to the next step in the process.
  • Grease and oil crushing equipment and conveyor belt.
  • Operate feeder, crusher and all downstream equipment with high productivity while ensuring there are no plug-ups, rock jams, or spillage.
  • Assist with explosives as required.
  • Closely monitor feeder, crusher and all downstream equipment and report maintenance issues or concerns in order to catch problems early and eliminate costly repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment, Physical & Lifting:

  • Regularly required to work underground and near moving, mechanical parts. Must be able to work rotating shifts. Frequently exposed to wet, humid conditions and vibration. Occasionally works in confined spaces and at heights of four feet or more while wearing fall protection. Exposed to loud noise levels.

  • Frequently requires sitting, talking, and hearing; occasionally requires feeling attributes of objects, grasping, standing, walking, driving, reaching with hands/arms; climbing or balancing, and repetitive movement. Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
