Job Type Full-time Description

As the Talent Development Manager at Ball, you will lead the design, implementation, and management of talent development strategies and programs to strengthen employee skills, performance, and growth. Ultimately supporting Balls overall success. This role plays a critical part in reinforcing and servicing Balls company culture by delivering development initiatives that reflect and support its values, business goals, and ways of working. You will proactively identify development needs and design impactful programs (80%) while remaining flexible to respond to ad-hoc requests and provide targeted support as needed (20%). This is a North America-focused role reporting to Human Resources, operating as an individual contributor.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategic Insight

  • Build strong, consultative relationships across departments to identify individual and team development needs.
  • Understand operational plans of various business units to uncover skill, knowledge, and competency gaps.
  • Lead and refine talent assessment initiatives to identify high-potential employees.
  • Leverage employee interactions, performance data, and feedback to identify development opportunities.

Company-Level Program Development

  • Own and enhance the learning and integration aspects of the corporate onboarding program to ensure new employees feel welcomed, informed, connected, and ready to succeed.
  • Manage Balls Employee Growth Program, the performance development framework focused on continuous growth with the employee at the center and in charge of their own development.
  • Foster peer-to-peer development opportunities through mentorship, coaching, and job shadowing programs.

Business Unit- and Department-Specific Development Planning

  • Identify and deliver learning solutions tailored to specific team needs, aligning individual development with long-term business objectives.
  • Advise teams on building critical professional competencies and support the creation of sustainable talent development plans.
  • Partner with managers to communicate and champion learning initiatives, ensuring alignment and active support.

Operational & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain the organizations learning management system and oversee content libraries.
  • Manage the L&D budget to prioritize competency development and reinforce organizational culture.
  • Partner with HR colleagues on a limited basis to support employee relations issues and broader HR initiatives, as required.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Assess the effectiveness of learning programs and development tools in driving individual and organizational improvement
  • Use data-driven insights to refine and enhance talent development strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent development, learning and development, or related HR functions.
  • Preferred experience supporting a decentralized, matrixed organization is highly valuable.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Database management experience is preferred.
  • Experience with learning technologies (LMS or other training platforms).
  • Leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Effective written and oral communications, including public speaking.
  • Ability to travel domestically a few times a year.

Salary Range: $90-110K

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit/stand 100% of the day
  • Ability to use hands/fingers all day for typing, writing and assembling materials
  • Ability to work in outdoor setting facilitating sessions outdoors or in greenhouse settings is minimal. Generally in an office setting.
