Connexus Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our team as the supervisor of our Distribution Design team. This position leads a group of key problem-solvers who plan, design, and coordinate projects for the construction of overhead and underground electric distribution facilities. This group strives to provide excellent member service and distribute reliable, safe, and economical power for our members.
Location:
Work for this position can be performed both on-site at our campus located at 14601 Ramsey Blvd, Ramsey, MN 55303, and from your local home office, as duties require. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements, hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota.
Compensation:
The expected hiring range is between $98,600 - $129,465 annually. The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 10% based on company performance.
In this position, you will:
- Create project plans and manage projects to ensure they are completed as scheduled, meet NESC and construction specifications, while maintaining a high level of productivity.
- Assign work orders and jobs to staff, ensuring workload is balanced and employee individual strengths and knowledge are utilized.
- Provide technical support for design, land rights and permitting issues to ensure quality and efficacy of work output.
- Update the distribution system geospatial information system (GIS) with proposed engineered facilities and changes to the distribution system to support the location of facilities in the field, and the operation and planning of the delivery system.
- Provide day-to-day work direction and leadership to employees, ensuring safety as the priority.
- Support distribution design employees through goal development, performance reviews and issues, recognition, and training.
- Support corporate cost savings and process improvement goals and participate in the budgeting process.
Need to have:
- Associate's degree in electrical or construction technology, GIS/geography, or a related field with five years' experience in design engineering
OR seven years of experience in construction technology, GIS/geography, or a related field.
- Five years' experience dealing with the general public.
- Current and valid driver's license.
Nice to have:
- Experience and/or knowledge of right-of-way and easement procurement, negotiations, and permitting.
- Working knowledge of design/staking, mapping/GIS, and work order management software systems.
- Working knowledge of overhead and underground electric line construction specifications.
- Working knowledge of NESC, NEC, and RUS specifications and codes.
