We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Production Scheduler to support operations during a period of increased demand. This role will focus on optimizing production schedules, improving inventory management, and ensuring on-time delivery by coordinating across procurement, engineering, and shop floor teams.
Responsibilities
- Create, manage, and adjust daily/weekly production schedules based on customer orders, material availability, and capacity constraints
- Coordinate cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources
- Monitor work orders and production progress; identify delays or bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
- Make corrections to work order BOMs and manage work order statuses
- Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and demand forecasting
- Troubleshoot fulfillment and work order-related issues
- Provide feedback on ERP item master data for accuracy
- Generate and maintain planning reports, KPIs, and other operational metrics
- Support the transition to more standardized and digital planning processes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in production planning or materials scheduling within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong understanding of MRP systems and planning tools; ERP software experience (e.g., Oracle, Epicor, SAP)
- Familiarity with BOMs, routings, lead times, and inventory control best practices
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP
- Background in electrical distribution equipment manufacturing or engineered-to-order environments
Contract Details
- Full-time, on-site role in Addison, IL
- Contract duration: Approximately 12 months
