This position is loced in the Joint Forces Headquarters-Ste, Logistics Directore (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, inspection, and/or overhaul of a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment.
Work is covered by the 5800-job family which includes occupions involved in repairing, adjusting, and maintaining self-propelled transportion and other mobile equipment (except aircraft), including any special purpose feures with which they may be equipped.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is a Title 32 Technician Vacancy th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the employing ste's Nional Guard.
Selectee required to wear the military uniform.
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Participion in direct deposit is mandory.
For positions requiring the operion of motor vehicles, candides must have a valid ste driver's license for the ste in which they live or are principally employed.
Qualificions
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC):
Area of Considerion: This position is open to Area 1 Only.
Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army Nional Guard (Tenure 1 and 2)
Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army Nional Guard
Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army Nional Guard
*Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Experience or training which demonstres knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventive maintenance tasks, and can use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Experience or training leading to a thorough knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operion, and working relionships of complex systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumic, and other non-mechanical systems th have a functional relionship and effect on the operion of mechanical systems. Knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumic, electrical, and electronic controls. Basic knowledge of electronics, sufficient to identify and replace defective components, such as sensors, diodes, and circuit boards. Ability to repair or overhaul major components such as diesel, multi-fuel or gasoline engines, turbine engines, automic and manual transmissions, drive line assemblies, electrical and electronic systems and accessories, fuel injection systems, and emission control systems.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the approprie security clearance of the position.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
3. Ability to establish effective professional working relionships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperive working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
4. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
