Construction Supervisor
Location: Onsite Indianapolis, IN
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $28.00 $32.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
A growing telecommunications contractor is seeking a motivated and skilled Construction Supervisor to oversee day-to-day field operations across underground and aerial telecom construction projects. This frontline leadership role is responsible for managing in-house and subcontractor crews, ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining quality control, and meeting project timelines.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, solutions-focused, and highly organized, with a solid understanding of both aerial and underground telecom construction methods. This position is a key player in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership & Site Management
+ Supervise and support underground and aerial construction crews.
+ Conduct daily tailgate meetings and coach team members.
+ Coordinate with foremen to meet production goals.
Safety & Compliance
+ Enforce OSHA, DOT, NESC, and 811 regulations.
+ Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
+ Conduct and document jobsite safety inspections.
Project Execution & Quality Control
+ Review job prints, permits, and dig tickets.
+ Oversee trenching, boring, pole transfers, fiber lashing, and more.
+ Monitor installation quality and maintain accurate documentation.
Productivity & Resource Coordination
+ Set and track production targets.
+ Monitor labor, equipment, and material usage.
+ Communicate project status and coordinate with internal teams.
Communication & Reporting
+ Act as liaison between field crews, management, and clients.
+ Maintain digital job documentation and provide timely updates.
Skills & Qualifications
+ 3+ years of experience in underground and/or aerial telecom construction supervision preferred.
+ Proficient in reading construction prints and telecom designs.
+ Knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and 811 dig laws.
+ Strong digital literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
+ Skilled in operating construction and office equipment.
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus.
+ Must pass background check and drug screening.
+ Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites daily.
Performance Expectations
+ Be consistently present and visible on job sites.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
+ Lead by example with urgency, integrity, and professionalism.
+ Deliver projects on time and to spec without compromising safety or quality.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
