Design Engineer (Electrical Design Engineer Wiring & Controls | AutoCAD Electrical/EPLAN)

12-month Contract (with potential for extension)

Alpharetta, GA Onsite Role

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in wiring and controls design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed schematic packages, generating BOMs, and wire lists, and supporting production engineering tasks related to hardware and custom wiring solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed electrical schematic drawing packages for manufacturing and as-built documentation.

  • Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and wire lists .

  • Collaborate with Production Engineers on hardware component selection and custom wiring design .

  • Ensure designs meet all technical and safety requirements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the design and production process.

Typical Day-to-Day Tasks:
  • Gather technical requirements and establish timelines/budgets.

  • Execute schematic and wiring design tasks independently or as part of a team.

  • Continuously improve and optimize performance and quality of design work.

  • Participate in daily and weekly team meetings, project discussions, and development sessions.

Team & Work Environment:
  • Work in a professional, collaborative, and supportive office environment.

  • Daily interaction with cross-functional teams.

  • Participate in weekly team meetings , project reviews, and design syncs.

  • Individual workspace provided in a friendly and interactive setting.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).

  • 3+ years of professional experience in electrical hardware controls design.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics .

  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN .

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Effective communicator and proactive team player.

  • Experience working in manufacturing or industrial automation environments.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
