Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring an Assistant Surveyor position for someone that is passionate about (or at least really likes) land surveying and mapping. Youll be performing various tasks such as construction staking calculations, as-built surveys, topographic mapping, ALTA Surveys, Records of Survey, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, plats and exhibits, legal descriptions, easement documents, and Field Survey setup for a wide range of public and private projects and clients. We take the traditional surveying and mapping approach of converting field data to documenting the earths surface to another level by applying innovative ideas and tools to give our maps more dimension. A day in the life as a Wood Rodgers' Assistant Surveyor
  • Pre-calculating and preparing survey data for construction staking and civil improvement projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Assist in the production of survey deliverables including topographic surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Records of Survey, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, and related documents.
  • Prepare legal descriptions and corresponding exhibits for parcel and easement acquisitions.
  • Compile and interpret land title information through research of title reports and public records.
  • Receive and respond to field survey requests from contractors and clients via phone and email.
  • Coordinate survey field crew schedule by balancing survey requests, survey personnel and availability daily with direction from the survey manager and staff.
  • Coordinate daily scheduling of survey field crews based on request priorities, crew availability, and direction from the Survey Manager.
  • Upload and download field data, organize incoming data, and interpret field notes and sketches to support office calculations and drafting.
  • Perform various survey-related computations including closures, precision checks, and calculations for plats, easements, and other deliverables.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelors degree in related field or working toward completion of degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant land surveying office experience.
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Must be proficient in reading civil improvement plan sets
  • Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) or ability to get it within 6 months.
  • Survey field experience is preferred
  • Project experience with land development
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center is preferred

The range does not reflect geographic variations and may fluctuate above or below the stated amount. Offers will be based on several factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, training, and location. Base pay is just one part of the comprehensive compensation package offered by Wood Rodgers.
