Parks and Recreation/Watoga State Park Under the direction and scheduling of supervisors, employee will be available to work all shifts necessary for park maintenance operations. This may include a rotating shift, evenings, days, and holidays.

Nature/Examples of Work:

Under the direction of supervisors, employee will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work. This work will include but not be limited to: rough and fine carpentry; plumbing; electrical; concrete and masonry; window cleaning; trash pickup; landscaping and grounds keeping; snow removal; housekeeping and janitorial work; repairs water lines; floor care and maintenance; wash vehicles; vehicle maintenance; repairs toilets and sewer systems; repairs sewer lines; assists in maintenance of public water and wastewater systems within the park; move furniture; loads and unloads supplies; move and replace appliances; inventories supplies; repairs on ac/heat units; repairs kitchen equipment; electronics repairs; maintains fire alarm and suppression systems; small engine repair; maintains safe work place; painting; operates vehicles; operates heavy equipment and mowing equipment; operates various hand tools and power equipment; and cutting, hauling and splitting firewood. May assist with major construction projects such as roof replacements, cabin and building renovations, stone wall repairs and will work in all weather conditions. Employee will work with park guests to immediately resolve their maintenance requests in a manner reflecting a positive image for Watoga State Park. Employee will comply and lead by example all directives relating to the Groundwater Protection Plan, BRIM trainings, Employee Handbook, and Division of Personnel policies to promote a safe, clean, and fair workplace. Employee will perform hands-on work in area of assignment. Performs all related work as required by supervisors .Employee will be available to work weekends, holidays, evening, and night shift. Employee will be available for on call work. Employee will work throughout all park facilities. Employee will be able to lift and move heavy objects. Employee will be required to work on ladders and at roof top heights. Regular attendance is required.

Training: No formal education required.

Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in building maintenance or as a helper in a building trade.

Special Requirement: Specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the Clean Air Act on refrigerant recycling.
