The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of electrical scopes within custom residential projects. This includes project planning, material coordination, subcontractor oversight, and on-site leadership. Working in close partnership with general contractors and clients, the Project Manager ensures that each installation aligns with both the architectural intent and technical requirements.
This role also supports the deployment of smart home automation systems, including lighting and shading control solutions. Strong communication, organization, and field management skills are essential to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities Project ManagementManage day-to-day operations of custom residential electrical projects from start to finish.
Coordinate labor, materials, and timelines to meet construction schedules and client expectations.
Review plans and specifications; collaborate with estimators and purchasing to ensure accuracy and readiness.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure code compliance.
Serve as a key liaison between homeowners, builders, designers, and field crews.
Provide timely updates on schedule milestones, system changes, and site readiness.
Review and approve billing documents, change orders, and closeout packages.
Assist in the integration and coordination of lighting, shading, and home automation systems.
Support layout design and equipment selection in partnership with technical leads.
Oversee system rough-in, device installation, and assist with basic programming tasks.
Use Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and project management software to track budgets, schedules, and procurement.
Maintain detailed project files and documentation for inspections, commissioning, and warranty.

Strong working knowledge of NEC, residential wiring methods, and smart home systems.
Familiarity with Lutron HomeWorks or similar lighting/shade automation platforms preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and project tracking tools.
Able to read and interpret electrical and architectural drawings.
Effective communicator with strong leadership and organizational skills.
Journeyman Electrician license or field experience is a plus.
