NATURE OF WORK
The Combination Inspector will support the initiatives of the Building Division and Community and Economic Development Department. Qualified candidates will operate as a team member and work individually on a variety of projects, and on some occasions will function as a project leader. The ideal candidate will be effective and thrive in a relationship-building role while also exemplifying the FRED values of the Town.
The Combination Inspector serves under the direction and general leadership of the Chief Building Official. The Combination Inspector performs professional project management and inspections; develops and maintains relationships with the development community and can address difficult or contentious issues in a constructive manner.
The individual in this position must be able to establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work and act as an ambassador by understanding and fostering the organizations mission and vision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Understand all state and local building codes and regulations pertaining to the building and construction.
Inspect all buildings under construction ensuring compliance with all adopted building codes.
Establish and maintain working relationships with other employees, building owners, tradesmen, contractors and the public.
Complete plan reviews on residential and commercial plans as assigned.
Work independently on field inspections and plan reviews making decisions utilizing technical judgement.
