Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) team is seeking a goal-oriented, detail-focused Senior Project Engineer to work within the Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organization.

What You Will Do:

  • ESTO task execution for commercial and military engine products sourced both inside PW and at external suppliers.
  • Support the onsite ESTO design team and product family Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to provide on-time resolution on non-conforming material.
  • Support the IPTs with planning and managing the budget for all impacted hardware and tasks.
  • Manage Outsource support teams providing engineering resources for our IPTs - create and update Statements of Work, manage workflow, and communication.
  • Provide planning, coordination, and tracking of open issues requiring Engineering support, including QNs, Deviations, Engineering Changes (Class2s), Engineering First Piece Reviews, Product Recall Investigations, and various Manufacturing process improvement tasks.
  • Coordinate with Engineering disciplines at other sites to ensure rapid responses to critical issues.
  • Prepare/present status and technical content to IPT Lead(s), ESTO Leadership, Module Center Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs), and other Pratt & Whitney leadership.
  • Travel up to 15% (Domestic and International).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree from ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited schools in engineering, and 5 years of related engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 3 years of engineering experience.
  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Mechanical or Aerospace engineering degree or MBA.
  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry and with jet turbines.
  • Previous gas turbine experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing shop environment.
  • Familiarity with process control methodology (Six Sigma / Procert / CORE, Lean).
  • Working knowledge of SAP, P&W Quality Systems.

Department/Segment Overview:

  • Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) provides dedicated support by eliminating quality notifications, escapes, works stops and enabling producibility and delivery of legacy and new parts, assemblies, modules, and engines. ESTO covers all engine programs and part families, enabling engine deliveries, first piece reviews, first article inspections, analysis automation, process certification. ESTO also supports the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) initiative in Operations. Technical disciplines in ESTO include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units. Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
