Shifts: This is a full-time hourly position as part of the Maintenance Department. Successful candidates will need to be available for day shift, but other shifts may be required depending on operational needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrician is part of the maintenance team and contributes to overall maintenance of the facility. Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform various tasks related to the electrical trade;
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment;
  • Provide PLC programming support (troubleshooting and upgrading); run conduit and wire/rewire systems;
  • Assist in performing Millwright work as needed including metal fabrication, mechanical drives repair, preventive maintenance inspections and lubrication;
  • Assist with operation and provide operator relief for operation of process equipment;
  • Knowledge with VFDs and Soft Starters (Yaskawa, Allen Bradley, AuCom); and
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices and contribute to safety improvement efforts mill wide.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum of 4 years working in a manufacturing/industrial environment, preferably wood products;
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher;
  • Formal training as an electrician, General Electrician (01) license preferred or Non-Residential Electrician (07) certification acceptable;
  • Good working knowledge of computers and process control equipment;
  • Stable, verifiable work history with demonstrated commitment to safety; and
  • This position requires the willingness and ability to work at heights, climbing stairs and ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, work in an environment containing wood dust and in hot or cold environments, and perform the essential functions of the position.
