LOCATION: This is a nationwide traveling position requiring frequent travel to project sites across the United States. Per diem will be provided.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Mechanical Foreman who is responsible for performing various daytoday tasks required in the field construction of aboveground storage tanks and/or mechanical fuel systems, including but not limited to executing any other general labor tasks as assigned.
Job Functions:
- Supervise and assist and workers in their performance of assigned duties
- Ensure equipment is inspected and maintained in proper working condition
- Read and properly interpret engineering construction drawings
- Conduct daily safety meetings (JHAs) when needed
- Follow all safety rules, recognize and report safety hazards
- Plan work as assigned and select proper tools
- Follow welding specifications
- Assist with hanging iron and fitting pipe
- Operate automatic welding equipment (if qualified)
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High School diploma or GED
- Must have at least 5 years of relevant pipe fitting experience
- Experience in the petroleum system construction/repair industry
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and written instructions
- Must have a working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards
- Must be able to fit structural plate and piping
- Must be able to pass the required weld test (SMAW/FCAW in all positions)
- Must be able to understand, read and write in English
- Possess effective communication skills
- Possess construction supervision skills
- Must be able to troubleshoot and have a strong attention to detail
- Must have physical dexterity
- Ability to organize, record and present information in a clear accurate and concise manner
- Must be able to work in elevated areas
- Must be willing to travel
- Must be able to pass a background check required to access US military installations
- Must have a valid driver's license
- This position may require, now or in the future, a Commercial Driver's License
- Must obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card
