Electrician... (Plattsburgh) image 1 of 1 compensation: 100 an hour, 3 hour minimum (you fix it in 10 minutes, you get paid for 3 hours) Transportation available Residential home.... The litany of what I believe to be wrong: We have 3 way switches not properly functioning. We have outlets pushing 36 volts. We have outlets with no voltage. We've got 2 wire + ground where 3 + ground should be. We have 2 breakers feeding one circuit (checked with a 'breaker finder'?). We've got exposed splices where a box should be... We've got splices that should never have been made - hence the 2 breaker-1 circuit situation mentioned above. House was built in 1941 as a 3 season dwelling and renovated/extended no fewer than 3 times, each done with less professionalism and attention to detail than the last. Note: This house is NOT up to existing code. Doing so would be prohibitively expensive due to extensive rewiring necessary. I simply want it as 'safe' as can be expected given standards in place during construction and have functionality returned. As can be imagined, I'm not sleeping too well...
