Upfit Mechanic- II | Independent Truck Upfitters | Kansas City, MO (ITU)

Regular Employee | Hourly Non-Exempt | $18.00 - 25.00

What youll do:

The UpfitTechnician is responsible for the consistent and quality upfit installations oftruck accessories and service repairs on various truck bodies.

• Complete consistent and quality installs oftruck accessories
  Including but not limited to lift gates,shelving units, toolboxes, body components and lighting systems
• Prepare chassis for truck body installation, such as hitch components, hitch plates, fuel system components, electrical wiring, sheer bars, etc
• Read and follow detailed work orders, installation drawings, blueprints, etc.
• Perform basic troubleshooting
• Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required for installations and service repairs
• Complete warranty service repairs on commercial vehicles
• Document cause and corrections completed for all warranty and service repairs
• Self-check work and inspect prior processes
• Complete inspection check sheet
• Initiate process improvements to support completing shop goals
• Fabricating custom mounting brackets
• Other duties as assigned

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Able to read and use a tape measure
• Basic writing knowledge (cutting, stripping, and connecting)
• Experience in a service shop environment preferred
• Experienced with vehicle mechanics, includingelectrical systems, hydraulics and basic fabrication techniques
• Welding is a plus
• PTO experience a plus
• Dependable, self-starter with proven track record of being reliable
• Team oriented along with a positive attitude
• May be required to accumulate tools and equipment to perform assigned tasks
• Work overtime as needed
