Job Description
Purpose:
The Assistant Director ensures the smooth operation of a 48-acre campus and 3,000 sq. ft. facility by overseeing maintenance, vendor support, event setups, and campus upkeep. This role coordinates preventive maintenance, manages inventory, supports safety standards, and collaborates with key shareholders to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe environment.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Respond to directives from the Director of Engineering, Assistant Director of Engineering, and Associate Executive Director.
Schedule, assign, and oversee workload for the preventative Maintenance staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Manage the Preventative Maintenance work orders and ensure proper tracking and follow-up.
Coordinate all furniture moves, vendor setups, and event setups, including staffing, equipment, storage, and inventory management.
Oversee operation of E Building elevators, including monitoring elevator operators and ensuring timely restoration of service when needed.
Lead storm response efforts, including mobilization of required equipment and manpower.
Maintain loading docks, storage areas, and exterior grounds to meet hospital property standards.
Supervise landscaping contractors to ensure proper upkeep of campus grounds.
Conduct regular campus inspections to uphold safety and maintenance standards.
Manage material inventory for campus-wide maintenance needs, including cleaning supplies, seasonal materials (e.g., salt, calcium chloride), and other general maintenance items.
Perform regular inspections of interior spaces, particularly cellar corridors and storage areas, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with safety protocols.
Oversee the use and maintenance of shop equipment for both grounds and interior maintenance.
Provide support to trades as requested by Trade Supervisors, including coordination of Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.
Serve as liaison with Space Planning, assisting with unit and office moves, including manpower and equipment coordination.
Support general groundskeeping and facility maintenance as directed by Facilities Management
Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in hospital administration,
health care administration, public health or a related discipline; or
2. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as described in 1 above,
and one (1) year of administrative experience; or
3. An equivalent combination of training, college education and experience in related fields.
