About the role:
Position is responsible for the successful Engineering Development of New Products. This is a hands-on role responsible for the Electrical Engineering of the product such as: Wire Harnesses, CAN Networks, software coding, and selection of electrical components. Objective is for the development of the vehicle Electrical System, Subsystems and Components to meet project targets for Quality, Cost & Timing. This is a hands-on design and release Engineer position.
What you will do:
Design and release of Electrical Systems, components (harnesses, PCBs, schematics) and software in-line with project plan.
Identify and recommend options for engineering solutions, improving quality, reducing cost, improving time to market.
Plan, schedule and implement project tasks within targeted cost, quality and timing deadlines.
Lead and support building and testing of prototypes including assembly and validation of hardware
Organizes and analyzes test and design analysis dates. Perform root cause analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of electrical issues
Ensures cross functional engagement and requirements with Manufacturing-DFM, Service-DFS,
Works with suppliers to communicate requirements and apply latest technology.
When & Where:
Hybrid Schedule. 3 days in office. Expected travel 5-10% of the time
Qualifications
What you need to have:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
2-7 Years of Experience
3+ years relevant experience (material handling, Automotive, Off-highway, etc.)
Able to create electrical schematics, troubleshoot electrical circuits and do electrical load analysis
Knows how to use basic electrical instruments like multimeter, oscilloscope, CANalyzer, etc.
Critical thinking - to analyze the strengths & weakness of a problem and offer options for solutions
Understanding of 3D CAD systems, and able to learn basic manipulation/viewing.
Experience with schematic development tools such as CREO Schematics, or ability to learn.
Able to create Requirements Documents for areas of responsibility.
Knowledge of common programming languages (Python, C++, etc..
What would be nice to have:
Systems Engineering (Electrical) design and release experience
Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers
Experience with electrical and firmware/software testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
Hands-on experience with the design and testing of controllers and power electronics
Proficiency with CAD tools for PCB design (e.g., Altium, Eagle)

The salary for this position ranges from $74,129 to $90,011 annually. The specific salary for a successful candidate will depend upon, among other legitimate factors, education, training, and/or experience.
