Valtir is currently looking to hire a Career Fitter/Welder team member for our Fort Worth, TX plant.

As a Career Fitter/Welder , you ll be responsible for ensuring that your team s daily work assignments are completed in accuracy on time and in a safe manner. You will be expected to be proactive in identifying and solving problems, and act with the utmost levels of integrity and safety.
Location: Ft. Worth, TX
Starting rate $21.00 per hour!
Full-time: M-F, 5:00 am -1:30 pm
What you will do:
Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts and work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation.
Tack-welds pieces together. Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other welding materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints schematics and sketches using manual, semi-automatic or automatic welding equipment.
May operate production equipment to cut, punch, or form parts for welding. May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
Observes all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records. Follows all safety rules and practices. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs flat fillet welds; Fits and welds simple assemblies; accurately measures within specified tolerances; reads blueprint; May operate automatic welding equipment (robotic welding) requires general supervision.
Fits and welds complex assemblies; Ability to operate fabrication machinery as needed; Accurately measures within specified tolerances; Reads and interprets blueprints; Operates automatic welding equipment (robotic welding); May be proficient at multiple pass welding.
What you ll need:
Minimum 1 year of experience
Pass welding test.
Must be able to read specifications, shop drawings and blueprints. We
Ability to perform all essential functions safely and efficiently.
Ability to follow directions and maintain a professional work environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work within a teamwork environment.
Able to use measuring tools and inspection gauges.
Basic shop math
Regular and predictable attendance.
