This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. The Project Manager collaborates with estimating, operations, customer service, and administrative teams to manage all aspects of project delivery, while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. This is a salary, exempt position in Gilbert, AZ reporting directly to the Southwest Operations Manager. Benefits Include: Competitive wage Insurance - Medical, Dental and Vision 401k with company matching Life Insurance Health Savings Account Paid Time Off Job Duties and Responsibilities: Estimating & Pre-Construction Estimate assigned projects and verify all requirements and costs. Ensure estimates meet gross profit targets and use correct client-specific worksheets/rates. Attend or delegate attendance for job walks. Create Gantt chart schedules and coordinate resource availability. Qualify vendor/subcontractor quotes and submit complete proposal packages. Collaborate with Customer Service to submit proposals and follow up with clients. Ensure awarded projects are booked and uploaded into timekeeping/accounting systems. Project Execution & Controls Approve and audit timecards daily; ensure accuracy in labor, equipment, and per diem entries. Staff projects appropriately and coordinate with manpower and other departments. Procure materials, equipment, and subcontractors as needed. Manage purchase orders, vendor invoices, and ensure timely close-out. Monitor project budgets and perform regular audits with project administrators. Track cost performance and maintain accurate project documentation. Change Management Ensure scope understanding and capture deviations through change orders. Submit change orders with full scope impact and client approval. Coordinate with project administrators and customer service for documentation and tracking. Billing & Financials Ensure accurate and timely billing with all required backup. Forecast billings and communicate with accounting and project administrators. Finalize costs in Acumatica and maintain organized project folders. Project Controls & Reporting Maintain overall and weekly look-ahead schedules. Track GP%, revenue forecasts, and project completion estimates. Facilitate project kick-off and close-out meetings. Prepare client turnover packages and required documentation (ITPs, redlines, submittals, etc.). Communication & Documentation Create and track RFIs and material submittals. Maintain job folders and provide regular project reports. Attend and facilitate project meetings. Safety & Quality Coordinate pre-construction safety documentation. Maintain personnel safety records and incident reporting. Ensure safe work environments and high-quality workmanship. Meet or exceed client expectations and document third-party QA requirements. General Business Unit Responsibilities Support business development and maintain client relationships. Mentor team members and participate in hiring/interviews. Conduct performance reviews and manage expense reports. Attend company meetings, trainings, and events. Maintain tooling and equipment in good working order. Collaborate with other regional units on manpower and project opportunities. Work with HR and Safety on training and employee relations. Minimize non-billable expenses and labor. Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Coordination Daily: Check in with direct reports, communicate needs/issues, and support day-to-day tasks. Weekly: Update schedules, participate in meetings, and report performance to the Department Manager. Monthly: Review and submit billings, attend safety meetings, and follow up with management. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred, but not required) 5-7 years of experience in project management within industrial, construction, or engineering environments Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) Familiarity with ERP systems such as Acumatica Strong understanding of estimating, scheduling, and cost tracking Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations Strong financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control Excellent leadership and team-building skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Criteria/Conditions: Work is performed in various industrial settings, including shop environment, mining environment, construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles. While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see. Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) during the Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
