Equipment Operator - Water Distribution

To operate light and heavy motorized equipment to replace and repair water lines, hydrants and other water system apparatus.
  • Operate backhoe, dump truck, jackhammer, water main tapping machine, line pushing machine, checks lift stations and operates flood control.
  • Returns streets, lawns, etc. to original condition after work is completed.
  • Services and performs maintenance and repair of the motorized equipment.
  • Works with Water Distribution or Sewer Maintenance crews as needed.
  • Other related duties as required.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have a least three years experience in the operation of heavy equipment and experience as a Utility Worker. Must possess a valid Ohio Drivers License with a Class A CDL endorsement and a Class 1 Water Distribution Certificate issued by the Ohio EPA. Qualified applicants will be required to participate in an online Civil Service competitive selection process where you will be tested regarding your abilities to meet individual job requirements. Credit for military service will be given once proof of satisfactory service is received at the time of application therefore you will need to upload your DD214 for review.
