The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of extensive experience in the Hadoop ecosystem, demonstrating strong on-premises architecture and management skills.

The candidate should be adept at problem-solving and analytics, with significant experience in cloud-based big data hosting and migrating Hadoop workloads to the cloud.

Excellent communication and mentoring abilities are essential, alongside a commitment to delivering high-quality, defect-free projects.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement solutions within the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and HBase.
  • Manage and optimize the on-prem Hadoop infrastructure for performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Facilitate the migration of existing Hadoop workloads to cloud platforms such as Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers to foster quality deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes using Jupyter and other ETL tools.
  • Utilize Linux for basic system operations and maintenance.
  • Participate in agile development processes and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure the delivery of projects with a focus on first-time-right and zero defects in production

Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience with a minimum of 10 years in the Hadoop ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in Hadoop, Hive, Spark, HBase, HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Jupyter, and ETL tools.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux operations.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in agile development methodology is a plus.
  • Proven ability to conduct code reviews and mentor team members.
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality projects with zero defects.
