Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to serve as a Project Engineer at Creech Air Force Base (CAFB). This role supports critical military infrastructure by leading the planning, design, and management of electrical systems for construction, renovation, and maintenance projects across the base. Join a team dedicated to enhancing mission readiness through innovation, safety, and engineering excellence.

This is contingent upon the award of the contract.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering duties related to the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of base-wide electrical systems and infrastructure.
  • Review architectural and engineering (A&E) designs to ensure electrical compatibility, maintainability, and operational
  • Manage and monitor new construction and renovation projects from preconstruction site assessments through completion and as-built documentation.
  • Develop detailed design documentation, Statements of Work (SOW), Statements of Objectives (SOO), and up to 35% design deliverables in collaboration with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
  • Prepare Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE) using parametric and industry cost estimating software.
  • Work closely with engineers from other disciplines, architects, project managers, utility services, and finance teams.
  • Provide hands-on electrical engineering support to base shops and service contractors to resolve technical issues and optimize maintenance strategies.
  • Assist with service contract oversight and ensure compliance with Recurring Work Program (RWP) requirements.
  • Use engineering tools such as AutoCAD, project management systems, estimating software (e.g., RSMeans), and CADD programs to support project development and execution.
  • Ensure all designs and projects adhere to federal, state, and local codes related to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 6 years of project management or engineering design experience with a U.S.-based company or organization (within the last 10 years).
  • Experience in military infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Highly skilled in electrical systems for large facilities, mission-critical operations, and complex utility infrastructures
  • Proficient in project scoping, cost estimation, and stakeholder coordination
  • Must be willing to complete required AFIT courses (WMGT 322, WMGT 422, WENG 200, WENG 400) unless already certified.
