Maintenance A Skilled Craft (District-Wide Boiler Mechanic)

Reports To: Supervisor of Maintenance and Operations and cooperates fully with the building Principal and Chief Custodian when performing maintenance in a school.

Primary Functions:
To provide major repair and preventative maintenance related to assigned skill.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Responsibility of major maintenance, trouble shooting, and repairs relating to light commercial boilers and pumps in the schools, including all phases of component installations.
2. Ability to obtain quotes from vendors for materials and accurately estimate the amount of materials required to do specific assignment.
3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics.
4. Knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring, and safety procedures
5. Must be physically able to carry equipment, climb ladders, work from scaffolding and use the necessary tools to perform duties in a due and timely manner.
6. Other related duties as assigned including, but not limited to Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation and Cooling System Mechanics.
7. Assists in maintenance, including plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical, blazing, heating and cooling systems.
8. Handle maintenance requests as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or designee.
9. Operates equipment as needed (including snow plowing)

Qualification:

1. Minimum 5yrs experience with light commercial boilers with a reputable firm (and or) similar facilities, completed 4yrs of a State of Delaware approved Apprenticeship training.
2. Demonstrated ability to perform the tasks in their specific craft.
3. Physical ability to perform above duties.

Terms of Employment:
1. Twelve Months
2. Salary and Benefits in Accordance with Negotiated Agreement
Required Education Level:
GED or High School diploma
certificate of completion of trade/vocational schooling

Evaluations:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Evaluation Procedure of the District.
