Sr Maintenance Mechanic

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Performs general to complex maintenance work which includes but is not limited to installations and repairs within the warehouse and office areas, as well as general equipment. Performs planned and unscheduled work. Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under limited supervision, applies considerable Maintenance Mechanic knowledge to perform general to complex maintenance work, preventative maintenance work, and all related documentation in compliance with current procedures.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues and/or in making recommendations.
  • Acts as a Maintenance Mechanic subject matter expert.
  • Prepares requisitions and maintains parts inventory and repair records for all equipment by completing accurate paperwork.
  • Complies with and observes safety regulations relevant to the maintenance and repair of equipment and facility.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules while ensuring manufacturing equipment is operation properly.
  • Proactively identifies measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of operation, department, or work crew.
  • Works within a safe working environment with proper safety gear.
  • Normally receives no instruction on routine daily work, and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
  • May provide assistance to lower level staff with more complex support tasks that require a higher level of understanding of functions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • May escalate issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Reviews and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assists with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma required; Associates Degree desirable.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum 2 4 years of related experience.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Familiarity with calibrations preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
