The Supervisor Quality Control is responsible for the top Uponor priorities for their shift in quality control: safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement. Prepare, analyze, and present data to the quality control manager. Managing through the quality control leads and other direct reports to meet qualitys goals. The position is responsible for coaching and developing all direct reports. This position also should demonstrate good leadership practices in relation with the companys interests. Lead tier 1 meetings, attend tier 2 meetings, review quality metrics and develop and assign action items, overall CI owner for the shift, final input and delivery of performance appraisals, make hiring and firing decisions, address elevated disciplinary issues, and are responsible for maintaining 6S standards.
This position requires detailed knowledge of the quality documentation process and document control practices. Knowledge of overall operations, lean practices, ISO and ASTM standards. A complete understanding of product specifications, testing, inspections, equipment calibrations, corrective actions and non-conformances are important in this position.
This position is an on-site position reporting to our Apple Valley headquarters while also supporting our Lakeville and Hutchinson locations.
What will you do?
Gives work directions, resolves problems and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
Maintains communication with quality management as well as effective partnership within the operations team: manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, safety, operations training, etc.
Allocates and requests resources (staffing, materials, etc.) across the shift to ensure timely completion of quality control workload.
Prepares, analyzes and presents data for management, used in Tier meetings, monthly reporting used in quality review, etc. and investigates further when required.
Evaluates and measures employee performance by providing constructive feedback as appropriate.
Coaches and develops staff and owns cross-training between areas of responsibility.
Using Lean and other continuous improvement tools, streamlines to ensure efficiency of continuous flow through the lab, along with other quality processes.
Assists in outside agency audits as required (NSF, IAPMO, UL, CSA).
Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives
What will you need?
High School Diploma (required)
A minimum of 2 to 5 years previous experience in a Quality Control environment and/or a two-year degree in a related field (preferred).
Strong verbal, written and analytical skills (required)
The ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines (required).
Must use an effective and approachable communication style to engage others and build relationships (required)
A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role (preferred)
Previous experience in an ISO-certified environment (preferred)
