Description

Wheeler Machinery Co. is currently seeking a full-time Welder to join our team at our Salt Lake City, UT location. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating a variety of metals, ranging from sheet metal to heavy plate. You will be expected to read and interpret blueprints and build instructions. Perform high-quality welds while meeting or exceeding estimated time requirements. Maintain a strong focus on safety and lead by example. Work collaboratively as part of a team. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in quality and productivity Were looking for a skilled welder who takes pride in their craft and thrives in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

+ Demonstrate and work safely in all aspects of the job. Be a safety champion within the team, lead and model safe behaviors and drive continued safety improvements.

+ Train a teachable employee in needed areas

+ Collaborate with the manager and team leader to solve problems and provide effective solutions

+ Read blueprints and identify markings

+ Horizontal and vertical welding with 1/16 100 series wire

+ Read inside and outside mics

+ Set up and weld series of bores

+ Fabrication from prints and weld projects

+ Tig weld flat position (Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum)

+ Locate specs from sis

+ Order parts

+ Writing service reports

+ Precision measuring

+ Preform all other duties as assigned

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Must be a self-starter.

+ Must be willing to put in extra hours to take care of the customer.

+ Must be a team player and work well with others.

+ Must have a positive, can-do attitude.

+ Must be able to perform tasks without constant supervision.

+ Always keep a safety mindset

+ Must have a valid driver's license.

+ Overtime may be required

+ Ability to have a resolve for problems when they arise.
