Mechanical Engineer

A Mechanical Engineer is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Overland Park, KS area. This is a position for an experienced HVAC and plumbing engineer with a minimum of 8 years of related work experience and a bachelor's degree in engineering who, with general supervision, will design, analyze, and study a diverse range of building configurations while maintaining a focus on quality, code compliance, and sustainable design.

responsibilities:

• An HVAC and plumbing engineer who designs, analyzes, and studies new and existing buildings.
  
  
• Provides HVAC and plumbing solutions for a variety of building types, including water treatment, power generation, and substations.
  
  
• Works on both traditional and alternative project delivery methods.
  
  
• Designs HVAC and plumbing systems for various facility areas like administrative offices, warehouses, labs, and electrical centers.
  
  
• Conducts energy audits, efficiency studies, and energy compliance calculations.
  
  
• Performs code reviews for facility compliance.
  
  
• Applies sustainable design principles, including LEED.

Skills:

• strong soft skills including self-motivation, problem-solving, communication, and a focus on quality.
  
  
• Intermediate knowledge of HVAC and plumbing design principles and industry standards (ICC, ASHRAE, ASPE, SMACNA, NFPA).
  
  
• Proficiency in software for heat load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment sizing.
  
  
• Familiarity with technical submittal and bid review processes.
  
  
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and Revit 3D modeling.

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  
  
• A minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
