Position: Mechanical Machine Design Engineer (Mid-Level)

Are you passionate about designing innovative machinery and solving complex engineering challenges? We’re seeking a skilled Mechanical Machine Design Engineer to join our Industrial Automation & Machine Design team. This role offers the opportunity to create custom automation solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and grow your expertise in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and implement customer-specific mechanical equipment using 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks; AutoCAD Inventor experience is a plus).

  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials for mechanical hardware in single-process machines.

  • Modify existing designs and contribute to clean-sheet designs from concept to completion.

  • Deliver projects on time and within budget, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

  • Mentor junior design engineers, fostering their growth and development.

  • Collaborate with internal departments and customers, communicating effectively and regularly.

  • Uphold engineering standards, administrative policies, procedures, and ISO quality/environmental processes.

  • Travel as needed to support project execution.

What We’re Looking For Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required).

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing automated process equipment.

  • Proven ability to design special or custom machines from concept to completion with minimal guidance.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD platforms ( SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor , SolidEdge, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of physics, fluid dynamics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical component integration.

  • Expertise in Process Control Analysis (Cp/Cpk).

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts and industrial design/safety standards (NFPA, UL, OSHA).

  • Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Project, word processing, spreadsheets, and engineering software.

  • Exposure to Six Sigma, ISO Auditor, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement methodologies (highly desirable).

  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a plus.
