Position: Mechanical Machine Design Engineer (Mid-Level)Are you passionate about designing innovative machinery and solving complex engineering challenges? We’re seeking a skilled Mechanical Machine Design Engineer to join our Industrial Automation & Machine Design team. This role offers the opportunity to create custom automation solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and grow your expertise in a dynamic environment.
What You’ll DoDesign and implement customer-specific mechanical equipment using 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks; AutoCAD Inventor experience is a plus).
Develop and maintain Bills of Materials for mechanical hardware in single-process machines.
Modify existing designs and contribute to clean-sheet designs from concept to completion.
Deliver projects on time and within budget, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Mentor junior design engineers, fostering their growth and development.
Collaborate with internal departments and customers, communicating effectively and regularly.
Uphold engineering standards, administrative policies, procedures, and ISO quality/environmental processes.
Travel as needed to support project execution.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing automated process equipment.
Proven ability to design special or custom machines from concept to completion with minimal guidance.
Proficiency in 3D CAD platforms ( SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor , SolidEdge, etc.).
Strong understanding of physics, fluid dynamics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical component integration.
Expertise in Process Control Analysis (Cp/Cpk).
In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts and industrial design/safety standards (NFPA, UL, OSHA).
Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Project, word processing, spreadsheets, and engineering software.
Exposure to Six Sigma, ISO Auditor, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement methodologies (highly desirable).
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a plus.
