Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Disaster Debris Monitoring Project Manager to oversee our disaster debris monitoring projects. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the projects, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations, and providing effective leadership to project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans for disaster debris monitoring initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise field personnel involved in data collection and monitoring activities.
  • Coordinate field operations, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, address challenges, and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations throughout all project activities.
  • Verify that all project documentation aligns with FEMA policy and company policies.
  • Provide daily oversight and quality assurance for project activities.
  • Promptly mobilize upon notification, meeting any contractual response timeframes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the client, debris hauler, and other governmental agencies throughout the project.
  • Manage and oversee personnel performance daily, addressing issues in a timely manner and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Communicate project status and projected timelines regularly to senior leadership.
  • Prepare reports and conduct regular meetings with clients as required.
  • Monitor and track project costs, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Offer technical assistance to clients throughout all phases of debris operations.
  • Collaborate with hauling contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective debris removal.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing disaster debris monitoring projects, preferably in a project management role.
  • Strong understanding of FEMA policies and regulations related to disaster debris management.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage personnel and resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in project management practices.
  • Willingness to travel and work in challenging field conditions
