Job Description:

Amentum is seeking an Electrician to support a Facilities O&M Services Contract. The Electrician will be responsible for providing day-to-day support for all facilities designated under O&M operations Normal hours are M-F 07:00 to 17:00. Electrical O&M typically supports and have the competency for the following:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
  • Comply with all site policies and procedures.
    • Follow UMC, NEC, ASME, UL, ANSI, NFPA, NIOSH and OSHA codes.
    • Typical facilities to be supported are office, warehouse, various tradecraft shops, housing, recreational, and dining facilities.
    • Electrical systems maintained include from underground transmission and distribution lines from delivery points to all main service entrances to buildings, including substations, sectionalizes, transformers, and accessories up to 12,470 volts.
    • Interior electrical systems include switch gears, uninterrupted power supplies, wiring, breaker panels, switches, outlets, light fixtures, exit lights, system controls, commercial equipment, appliances, eand emergency lighting.
    • Exterior electrical systems include lighting, electrical distribution systems up to panels and junction boxes, switches, gates, system controls, generators, and motors.
    • Responsible for the planning and laying out work from blueprints, rough draft drawings, models, work orders or verbal instructions, while using a variety of electrician hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring/testing instruments.
    • Provide O&M repairs to existing facilities and new electrical services for new facilities or in facility upgrades.
    • Respond to facility emergencies after hours (when applicable).
    • Follow instructions to detail for the task at hand by O&M supervisor.
    • Execute generated workorders from sites computer maintenance management system (CMMS).
    • Making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of job/task to be performed.
    • Selecting appropriate materials necessary for the task at hand.
    • Provide verbal feedback or detailed report to the O&M supervisor daily.
    • Prepare and submit detailed purchase requests for taskings assigned from the O&M Supervisor.
    • Assist with maintaining shop inventory for day to day used items for taskings.
    • Perform jobs/tasks in outside unconditioned environment working in the extreme hot and humid weather.
    • Responsible for maintaining and cleaning government issued items and/or property.
    • Perform other duties and activities as directed such as: basic painting, minor sheetrock repairs, lawn if needed, and working with other trades to complete general task(s) at hand.
    • Able to obtain and maintain a forklift certification.
    • Able to obtain and maintain certification for fall protection.
    • Able to work in areas of height with boom or scissor lifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • H.S diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 yrs. experience performing as an electrician.
  • Provide applicable certifications.
  • Computer literacy to navigate online required training, time keeping, and email.
  • A valid Driver's license form applicant's home state is required.

Additional Duties:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Being fit for duty.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly or as needed performing various assigned task.
    • Ability to do the following for extended periods of time: stoop, bend, kneel, reach, twist and carry.
    • Ability to stand 8-10 hrs. per day.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and have flexibility to move from one task to the next or work multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Be able to work in a team environment.
    • Be a problem solver or solution maker.
  • Reasoning ability.
  • Can define problems and collect data while establishing facts to draw valid conclusions.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Self-starter and motivated to perform at high level.

Optional Qualifications:

  • CDL
  • Heavy equipment experience/ certifications
