RESPONSIBILITIES
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using arc welding (stick welding) and
other traditional welding techniques.
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using
straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates
to ensure conformance with specifications.
Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other
alloys.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required
configurations and positions for welding.
Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals
being welded, completing electrical circuits.
Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy,
geometry, and welding techniques.
Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping,
shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using
processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded
metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.
Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and
material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as
required.
Remove rough spots from workpieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
Develop templates and models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations
based on blueprint information.
Position and secure workpieces, using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines or tools.
Operate metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines, such as brakes and shears.
Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and
Company policy.
Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.

EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma
3 years of welding experience
Welding certificate preferred
Eligible to work in the United States
KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | COMPETENCIES
Proficiency in arc welding (stick welding) and familiarity with other welding techniques
Ability to read blueprints and understand weld symbols
Ability to read a tape measure and add and subtract fractions
Excellent understanding of construction safety rules and a commitment to safety
awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position involves frequent travel to job sites, which may include construction zones,
industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, or remote outdoor locations.
Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme
temperatures, noise, dust, confined spaces, and elevated heights.
Work conducted in a manufacturing plant is within a controlled environment, involving
exposure to machinery, construction, and production processes, as well as varying
weather conditions, noise, and dust.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and highvisibility vests will be provided and must be worn on the production floor and construction
site.
Use of welders, overhead cranes, grinders and other welding equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push or pull loads of up to 50 pounds; physical
fitness and stamina are essential.
Strong balance, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
Ability to meet visual and auditory acuity requirements.
Ability to stand for long periods
