Strata-G Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Technician to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, modifying, testing, and inspecting electrical assemblies, harnesses, and wiring systems to support mission-critical programs.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with a strong background in cable harness fabrication and electrical assembly, especially in aerospace, defense, or military-standard environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble electrical harnesses and devices including switches, relays, and circuit boards according to engineering drawings, schematics, and military specifications (MIL-SPEC).
- Integrate circuit card assemblies into various types of chassis and enclosures.
- Read and interpret technical documents, including schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and work process specifications.
- Perform wire cutting, stripping, pinning, and harness assembly, including application of heat shrink and marker sleeves.
- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections; perform continuity testing on cables and sub-assemblies.
- Use a variety of tools including soldering irons, crimpers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, heat guns, power crimpers, solder sleeves, cable testers, and pull testers.
- Modify, rework, and reassemble prototype and production-level hardware.
- Follow written, oral, and diagram-based instructions to complete assignments with accuracy.
- Support ongoing process improvements and collaborate with engineering teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in cable harness building and electrical assembly.
- Active U.S. Security Clearance (Required for consideration).
- Experience with mechanical/electrical fabrication, cable assembly, and connector integration.
- Ability to interpret complex wiring schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
- Proven experience using a wide range of fabrication tools and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precision work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a high-tempo environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification (Cable Harness Assembly)
- J-STD-001 (Soldering Certification)
- IPC-A-610 (Electronic Assemblies)
- Familiarity with test equipment (DITMO, O-scope, etc.)
- Experience in missile assembly, ordnance, or deliverable military hardware.
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to adapt and innovate in a mission-driven setting.
