Annual Salary:
$48,276.80 - $53,809.60 commensurate with experience
Work Hours:
Normal hours M-F 7:30am to 4:30pm but may vary depending on University need and some evening and weekend for special events.
Job Summary:
The Plumber III provides work at the journeyman level. Performs a variety of skilled plumbing tasks in accordance with standard trade practices in the installation and maintenance of plumbing and heating systems in state buildings. Supervision may be exercised over helpers and assignments are received in the form of oral or written instruction or job orders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installs, maintains, and repairs water lines, sewers, lavatories, commodes, gas lines, gas heaters, steam lines, steam fixtures, and heating plant boilers in one or more University buildings.
- Greases and oils all pumps and motors on the water system and repairs pumps.
- Maintains boilers as well as draining and inspecting them twice annually.
- Performs related work as required.
- Moves from building to building on campus.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: Graduation from a high school.
- Experience as a journeyman plumber or completion of an apprenticeship in the trade.
