**Welder/Maintenance Engineering Indianapolis [day shift - onsite]**

**What is the job about?**

This occupation includes all activities required for welding of pump assemblies, parts, fabrications, and is inclusive of repair welding of different metallurgies.

This position reports directly to the **Maintenance and Facilities Manager** and will operate daily out of the **Indianapolis, IN** facility (primarily Mon-Fri).

**_Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support._**

**_Your main responsibilities:_**

+ Material preparation for weld

+ Move material as required.

+ Perform layout work

+ Perform operations such as drilling, tapping, fitting, filing, polishing, honing, reaming, countersinking, and adjusting.

+ Performs MIG, TIG, and stick welding, as well as use of acetylene torch.

+ Performs manual and electronic record keeping such as preventive maintenance

+ Provide training and instruction to other employees as required.

+ Receive, store, and retrieve material.

+ Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).

**_Key Success Factors:_**

Production order on-time performance and both internal and external customer support are key to achieving company goals. Problem solving skills and interpersonal skills are a must to succeed in this role.

**_Posting, Reporting, and Work Relations:_**

This role will be working closely with Maintenance Manager, APU Manager, and Tool room team. Will also provide support to Service Team, Production Supervisors, and shop floor personnel.

**Your background**

**_We imagine that you have:_**

+ High School Diploma, GED/HSE/HiSET or equivalent *required

+ Additional Technical training *much preferred.

+ 4 years experience in MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, and ARC/SMAW welding of various metallurgies.

+ Veterans with MOS experience maintaining and repairing sophisticated or precision mechanical systems are strongly encouraged to apply. *much preferred

+ **_Competencies:_**

+ Cranes, hoists, material handling equipment,

+ Computer (MS Windows, SAP, Excel)

+ Manual, power driven, and pneumatic hand tools, and machine tools.

+ Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and apply mathematics to work from engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

+ Ability to operate precision instruments, manual machining equipment and lifting equipment

+ Mathematics skills including proficiency subtracting, multiplying and dividing for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.

+ Ability to communicate effectively, verbally in the English language to understand and use written or verbal control and work instructions,

+ Ability to analyze and problem solve to resolve various technical and interpersonal issues with collaboration, respect and professionalism.

+ This position requires the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time, frequently grasp tools, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, lift/push/pull, reach, stand, and walk when performing duties.

+ Specific vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision.

+ Able to work in a non-climate controlled factory or field environment.

+ Demonstrated strong work ethic (including good attendance), strong organizational skills and strong communication skills (written and oral).

**_Work conditions:_**

Potential for Noise, not temperature controlled, potential overtime, lifting 40lbs.
