If youre passionate about this we want to hear from you About the Role MWH is currently seeking a Construction Manager to support a 13B greenfield water treatment facility project located in the greater Portland OR area The Construction Manager will oversee all aspects of the construction activities to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the project plans and specifications as well as requirements of the contract and the expectations of the client Reporting directly to MWHs Senior Project Manager the Senior Construction Manager is the primary interface with the Owner the Engineer of Record Subcontractors and permitting agencies Responsibilities include providing construction management on all project phases from procurement through bid pre construction construction commissioning start up and close out phase Essential Functions Responsible for daily construction planning meetingEnsure all work planning is completed prior to construction work being implementedDevelop and maintain the 4 week short term look ahead scheduleWork with the project team to update the project CPM schedule on a weekly basisMonitor and control to work to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budgetInterface with client oversight representatives regulatory agencies etc for project executionInitiate and maintain liaison with client consultants and subcontractors to facilitate construction activitiesEnsure all company and project policies procedures standards etc are adhered toComplete project objectives and performance standardsProvide oversight and direction to all activities associated with construction contract administration contract planningexecution scheduling review and analysis change order management and quality assurance oversight as requiredWill have day to day supervisory responsibility over the construction team including superintendents project and field engineers management staff safety staff and the commissioning & startup teamImplement company safety program Assure that staff and subcontractors follow safe work practices and use company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe mannerBasic Qualifications Bachelors degree in engineering civil mechanical or electrical or construction management or equivalent work experience as a General Superintendent or Construction ManagerMinimum of 10 years of experience managing municipal water andor wastewater infrastructure projects such as treatment plants and pump stations8 years of management experience including client interface subcontractor management work planning and execution project delivery and staff supervisionProficiency in work planning and collaboration with project schedulersStrong emphasis on safety and quality in project executionEffective management of subcontractors ensuring adherence to project requirementsManagement of and leading craft laborProven ability in client interface and communication maintaining positive relationshipsCoordination with Project Management for seamless project executionExceptional communication skills both written and verbalCapability to facilitate at the field level ensuring smooth operational processesSkilled in conflict resolution and dispute management promoting a harmonious work environmentThorough knowledge of all aspects of construction technology equipment methods union jurisdiction labor agreements and negotiationsThorough understanding of corporate and industry practices processes standards etc and their impact on project activitiesExcellent communication interpersonal organizational supervisory and planning skillsMust be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performanceStrong business
