Low Voltage Technician**

**Job Description**

The Low Voltage Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, audio/visual systems, telecommunications, and networking. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients. The technician will operate remotely, completing low voltage system installations in Iowa and surrounding Midwest areas.

**Responsibilities**

+ Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex low voltage systems, working independently to solve problems and meet project deadlines.

+ Interact directly with clients, providing technical support and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

+ Complete training on various systems and perform turnkey installations, including Structured Cabling, Access Control, Video Surveillance, and more.

+ Install and maintain equipment such as IP and analog cameras, video management software, Windows-based DVR/NVR hardware, and access control systems.

+ Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients and team members.

+ Conduct system upgrades and implement new technologies.

+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

+ Develop solutions to complex problems using independent judgment.

+ Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.

+ Ensure compliance with industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations.

**Essential Skills**

+ 3+ years of experience in the installation and service of Structured Cabling, Video Surveillance, or Access Control.

+ 1+ years of experience in the installation and service of Fire Alarm Systems.

+ Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.

+ Excellent writing and communication skills.

+ Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Ability to travel to project sites within Iowa Monday-Friday.

+ Self-starter with initiative and drive, willing to learn new systems and take on complex technology projects.

+ Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.

+ Collaboration skills with other trades and contractors on multi-disciplinary projects.

+ Willingness to travel within the region and out of state for national client projects with prior notice.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
