Note: The hourly rate for this position is $18.50 - $18.50 / hour. Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring: Continuously observe areas where hot work activities (like welding or cutting) are taking place to detect any signs of fire or smoke.
  • Emergency Response: Immediately sound the alarm in the event of a fire and, if safe, attempt to extinguish small fires using fire extinguishers before they escalate.
  • Documentation: Keep records of fire watch activities, including times of rounds and any incidents reported.
  • Safety Protocols: Ensure that all fire safety protocols are adhered to, including checking that fire extinguishers are accessible and in working order, and that flammable materials are stored properly.

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 months of experience in construction or a related field
  • Reliable transportation to get to jobsite
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Position may require a drug screen Basic Hand tools
