These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise,facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad arrayof other professional skills that support the National Park Service through theExperienced Services Program (ESP).

Qualifications:
Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Structural, Civil, or General EngineeringOR BA/BS Degree in Structural, Civil, or General Engineering with minimumadditional experience of 15 year(s) in Structural Engineering
Advanced concepts, principles and practices of electrical engineering.Active Professional Engineers license issued by any state.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MSTeams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe AcrobatDuties:
The structural engineer shall review building design documents (drawings,specifications, reports, etc.) to determine if the design approach complies withNational Park Service design standards and International Code Council family ofcodes. These reviews are quality assurance reviews (as opposed to qualitycontrol reviews). They are expected to inform the project manager as to thewhether the overall design is of a quality that will lead to a biddable andbuildable project with minimum RFIs and modifications. These engineeringpositions will require an active Professional Engineers license issued by anystate.
Reviews and prepares preliminary design, design, and construction documents(drawings, specifications, cost estimates, special studies/reports) forprojects. 35%Provides technical reviews, peer reviews, and checking of designs, drawings,engineering analysis, and technical documents, specifications, and contractcorrespondence, ensuring contractor documents are accurate and quality assuranceprocesses were followed. Provides subject matter expertise, technical guidance,training, and advice to Park cultural resource staff, AML staff, Park engineers,and technicians and other internal and external stakeholders. 30%Works closely with contracting officer and acquisition team as required forsite visits, submittal review, and project modifications. 20%Provides technical assistance or emergency response to park staff. 10%Shares expertise with division engineers and architects to inform scoping,designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining park infrastructure. Other:Required Certifications: Professional Engineer license in good standing withany state.Health and Safety Considerations: Training in proper chemistry labmanagement and use of hazardous materials. Previous graduate coursework in alaboratory setting will satisfy this training.Required Safety Gear: Fume hoods, extraction trunks, and personalrespiratory devices will be used as necessary, depending on solvents used duringconservation treatments.Physical requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enableindividuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of thisposition.
