Looking for a steady, hands-on job where your work really matters? Join the City of Boise as a Utility Construction Worker and help keep the city running strong. In this role, youll work outside year-round, use heavy equipment, and help maintain and repair important underground systems like wastewater, geothermal, and irrigation lines. When things go wrong, youre one of the first people we call to fix it.
This job is for people who take pride in hard work, know how to stay safe on a job site, and are ready to be part of a solid, reliable team. Youll use your construction know-how, operate machines and tools, and help with everything from emergency repairs to routine maintenance. Minimum Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED
+ At least two (2) years of experience in construction or utility work especially with water, wastewater, geothermal, or irrigation systems
+ Knowledge of:
+ Job site and equipment safety
+ Basic construction practices
+ Sewer and water system layouts
+ Tools, equipment, and how to operate them safely
+ Ability to:
+ Work in and around confined spaces (like manholes or underground vaults)
+ Operate light to heavy equipment (backhoes, loaders, etc.)
+ Read blueprints and maps
+ Communicate clearly and follow instructions
+ Perform physical work in all weather conditions
+ License & Driving Record:
+ Valid state-issued drivers license
+ Must have a safe and acceptable driving record.
Essential Functions
Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Operates
