Night Shift- Sunday, Monday Tuesday and every other Wednesday ($2 shift differential)

Night Shift- Every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday ($2 shift differential)

Job Summary

This position is accountable for the timely installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex plant equipment and facilities that are instrumental in the efficient functioning of automated production lines and a manufacturing facility operating on a 24 hour/day, 7 days/week operation.

The incumbent is assigned jobs by the supervisor or a superintendent and is expected to complete most jobs, including those of a complex nature, with little supervision.

All assignments must be carried out under stringent safety and sanitation standards. Quality requirements are constantly monitored, necessitating equipment fabrication and machine operations within specific tolerances and operational specifications to ensure the delivery of food products on time and at the lowest cost by conforming exactly to the customers requirements. Participation of employees in the implementation of improved concepts is encouraged in all production processes.

Skills required include an intermediate level in proficiency in welding, plumbing, electrical repair, instrumentation, running lathes and milling machines, fabricating and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Additionally, the incumbent must own and maintain a basic set of hand tools.

Principle Accountabilities:

+ Performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturers manuals, diagrams, sketches etc. This includes, but is not limited to, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, drying equipment, motors, VFDs, and control instruments to sustain and improve operations in a manner that minimizes downtime.

+ Ability to setup and operate simple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Ability to perform basic welding tasks.

+ Ability to understand mechanical and electrical blue prints, sketches or schematics of complex objects and circuitry as requested in work orders or to perform job duties.

+ Is aware of, and can demonstrate, maintenance best practices such as alignments of sheaves and sprockets.
