Job Title: Steel Erection Project Manager Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee structural steel erection projects from pre-construction through closeout. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Construction Management or Engineering and have prior experience managing complex steel erection projects. Familiarity with Tekla Structures or Tekla EPM is highly preferred , along with strong coordination, budgeting, and scheduling skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage steel erection projects, ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule compliance.

  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, and resource forecasts.

  • Coordinate with design teams, general contractors, fabricators, and field crews to ensure timely execution.

  • Review and interpret shop drawings, erection drawings, and field instructions.

  • Utilize Tekla software (preferred) for coordinating with detailing and fabrication workflows.

  • Manage RFIs, change orders, submittals, and procurement schedules.

  • Conduct regular project meetings and site walks to monitor progress and resolve issues.

  • Oversee subcontractor performance, contract compliance, and site logistics.

  • Ensure project closeout procedures are completed, including punch lists and as-builts.



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.

  • Proven experience managing structural steel erection projects, preferably with tonnage exceeding 1,000 tons.

  • Strong knowledge of steel construction methods, rigging practices, crane operations, and site safety protocols.

  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and erection plans.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Tekla Structures or Tekla EPM in a project or detailing coordination capacity.

  • Familiarity with AISC standards and OSHA regulations related to steel erection.

  • Previous field experience in steel erection or detailing background a plus.

  • PMP certification or equivalent construction project management credentials.
