Job Title: RF Systems Engineer

Job Description:

In MACOM's MMIC Business Unit we design MMICs and IMAs for cellular, aerospace & defense, and other wireless applications. We are looking for an experienced RF/MMW Systems Engineer with experience designing complex multi-chip and multi-module systems. You will:

Job Qualifications:

  • Build cascaded system models of RF systems in Keysight Genesys.
  • Select off-the-shelf components and develop specifications for components from system level specifications.
  • Simulate system performance over all conditions: temperature, EOL, varying DC voltages, etc.
  • Write component and system test plans as required.
  • Bona fide RF and microwave enthusiast.
  • Assist test lab staff with system integration.
  • Generate design reports, progress reports, test reports, datasheets, and bills of materials.
  • Set up and perform lab RF measurements.
  • Support and teach test technicians how to perform various written test procedures.
  • Support Manufacturing Test for a variety of products, discrete devices to modules.
  • Facilitate new products transitions from engineering to manufacturing.
  • Develop and coordinate activities focused on testing of products and systems.
  • Work closely with and provide feedback to design, product, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Develop and implement enhancements as part of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze test data and write formal reports on findings.
  • Document new test procedures as required.
  • Unparalleled time management skills and an unquenching thirst for working for multiple managers with competing priorities and conflicting deadlines.
  • Ensure all aspects of product manufacturing, including hardware, documentation, BOMs and costing are in place for the production release of a product.
  • Ensure new product introduction is successful and on schedule.
  • Work with our Business Development team on bid & proposal activity.
  • Lead peer review of design concepts.
  • Cooperating with the Project Manager in order to maintain an up-to-date project plan and schedule.
  • Keeping up to date and maintaining passion for the latest Millimeter-Wave technologies.
  • Customer support as required.

Other Special Skills:

  • B.S. in engineering or science discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience with RF/Microwave/Millimeter-Wave design, development, and analysis.
  • Experience with a variety of system level modeling tools such as Genesys, MATLAB, ADS, etc.
  • Experience using lab equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Multimeters, etc.

Hands-on troubleshooting experience.

  • Detail oriented and quality focused.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organization and documentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long lasting partnerships. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
