FlexTrades is hiring skilled Pipe Fitters for project-based work across the United States. Immediate opportunities are available in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. If you have experience TIG welding stainless steel tubing and schedule 40 pipe in sanitary or industrial environments, we want to hear from you. Location: Nationwide travel-based role with possible job sites in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island Key Responsibilities Fit and TIG weld stainless steel sanitary tubing Weld schedule 40 stainless steel pipe (4 diameter) for high-pressure air and chiller lines Perform purge operations using purge blocks and dams prior to welding Set up and operate TIG welders independently, including selecting rod and cup sizes, amperage, and heat settings Cut tubing to size using portable bandsaws (supplied in 20' lengths) Weld fittings, ferrules, and connectors to tubing and pipe (no tube-to-tube or pipe-to-pipe welds) Work from verbal instructions only (no diagrams, prints, or weld parameters provided) Operate from scissor lifts at heights up to 20 feet Collaborate with team members while maintaining independent execution of routing and fit-up tasks Qualifications Proven experience in sanitary tube welding and fitting in a process manufacturing environment Proficient in TIG welding with foot pedal and alternative controls (thumb/wheel/finger) Ability to pass a basic weld qualification test (visual inspection of stainless tube weld) Strong understanding of purge techniques and welding setup Comfortable working at heights and in dynamic installation environments Excellent problem-solving and visualization skills Must be a team player with the ability to work independently Preferred Skills Experience welding schedule 40 stainless steel pipe Familiarity with oil transfer systems and high-pressure line installations About FlexTrades FlexTrades is the nation's leading provider of skilled trades solutions for manufacturers across the United States.
