Project Engineer Job Description As a Project Engineer, you will organize and execute a broad range of project assignments that require extensive knowledge of civil engineering practices. You will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the technical requirements of large and significant development projects or several smaller projects with complex features. Your role will include providing input for proposals to estimate costs and establish budgets for project technical requirements, preparing project work plans, setting schedules, and organizing project execution. You will work independently to solve technical problems within the initial scope of work and may request changes in scope if unforeseen issues arise. Additionally, you will participate in job completion reviews to evaluate both the positive and negative aspects of the project. Responsibilities Coordinate and review the work of staff engineers and CAD drafters. Provide quality assurance plan reviews to ensure completeness of drawings. Stay updated on new methods and developments affecting the civil engineering field. Prepare project work plans, set schedules, and establish budgets. Organize project execution and solve technical problems within the scope of work. Request changes in scope if unanticipated problems develop. Participate in job completion reviews to critique both positive and negative aspects of the project. Essential Skills A minimum of 6 years of civil engineering design experience. Full range of knowledge of engineering plans for site development. Expertise in hydrology, storm drainage, grading, erosion control, streets, sanitary sewer, water, cost/quantity estimates, local governmental agency standards, striping/signing, utilities, surveying, specifications, field construction observations, and structural construction phase. Additional Skills & Qualifications Supervision, communication, and organizational skills. Experience in supervising and directing other staff members in project execution. Experience in dealing with clients, contractors, and governmental agencies. Responsible for developing and monitoring budgets during project execution. Work Environment You will work in an office environment with a professional dress code. The team size is typically between 3-4+ members. The hours are flexible, with a start time between 7 am and 8 am.
