Abonmarche is seeking a Civil Engineer to work in our Fort Wayne, IN office.
Job Summary:
The role of the Civil Engineer is to perform general project administrative duties including computer-aided design and drafting, preparation of contract documents, engineering computations and budget estimates, and inspection and administration of construction for Civil Engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support for a variety of Civil Engineering projects including roadway reconstruction, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water mains, bridges, retaining walls, trails, traffic signals, marinas, and asset management projects. Also includes site design for residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial development.
- Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
- Assist in the development of estimates of probable construction costs.
- Attend client meetings.
- Assist in the analysis and preparation of reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and tests.
- Prepare design computations and quantity estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects.
- Develop computer models for hydraulics, hydrology, traffic, and terrain.
- Perform construction inspection duties as needed to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to prepare engineering and design documents.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Indiana PE preferred.
Work Experience/Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience preferred.
- Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D preferred.
- Experience with construction materials, procedures, and documents.
- Basic knowledge of Civil Engineering principles.
- Ability to read basic Civil Engineering and Architectural drawings.
- Ability to accurately measure and calculate items such as grade, area, and volume.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
