A Welder III is responsible for mid-level assembly, securing and welding metal parts using a pulse MIG and/or TIG welder, operating overhead hoists or cranes, using hand tools appropriate for the job. They will also read and interpret blueprints of a complex nature, fabricating and welding metal components according to specifications and with little supervision. A Welder III will also apply appropriate welding techniques to produce quality welds.
Responsibilities:
Follow Blueprints to create quality products.
Troubleshoot issues that arise on the shop floor and confer with supervisors and production personnel to resolve problems, keeping projects moving forward for the best outcome.
Prepare products to be welded by reading blueprints and utilizing fixturing.
Ensure all equipment is in good repair, properly set up, and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use, including mandatory PPE.
Operate manual wire feed welders and automatic welders while utilizing appropriate welding wire, heat, arc, speed, depth, and weld bead size.
Proficient welds in all positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead, and down.
Perform inspections as required by standards.
Qualifications:
MIG and/or TIG welding experience required. Pulse welding experience preferred.
Prior fabrication background preferred.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs without assistance from various positions.
Ability to use cranes and hoists.
Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
