We're Hiring! Our key client is growing like crazy and adding a Manufacturing Welder to their team.
Pay Rate: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour on W2, depending on experience and certification.
Location: Onsite - Houston, TX 77041
Shift Details: 10-hour shift | Monday - Thursday | Overtime: Likely includes Fridays and possibly weekends.
Duration: 12-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Additional Details: Standard Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
Responsibilities:
* Perform weld preparation, welding, and finishing operations per drawings/specs.
* Weld in flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions.
* Clamp, tack-weld, grind, and heat-bend components.
* Detect equipment/material faults and examine work for defects.
* Operate hand and power tools common to welding.
* Apply continuous improvement principles from the Manufacturing System.
* Work on Sand Screen and Alternate Path Systems for Oil and Gas customers per API 19SS.
* Use the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement, wherever applicable.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or GED, if they have enough work experience.
* Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of welding experience required.
* Preferred: 2-3 years.
* Top 3 Technical Skills:
* Knowledge of weld process
* Use of computers
* Ability to read drawings and layout parts
* Industry Standards: ASME IX
* Welding Techniques/Materials: MIG & TIG; 304 to 316, 316 to 825, 316 to 316, 304 to 825, 825 to 825
* Certifications: Not required, but preferred
Tools and Machinery
* MIG / TIG
* Grinder
* Chop saw
* Hammer & chisel
* Overhead crane
* Drill machine
* Deburr machine
Team Structure:
* Long-tenured team (some with 30-40 years of service).
* Welcoming, collaborative environment.
* Values team players who are always willing to learn, self-starters, and who can also work independently.
Training:
* NEST training required before starting on the floor.
* Conducted locally in Houston.
Physical Demands
* Lifting up to 50 lbs
* Standing and sitting for extended periods
* Handling parts and performing repetitive process steps
Work Environment:
* Location: Indoor shop in Houston, TX.
* PPE Required: Yeshard hat, safety glasses, jumpsuit, and boots.
* PPE Provided: Yes, but steel-toe boots preferred if available.
