Job Description We are seeking a Construction Field Engineer with over two years of experience in heavy civil construction to join our dynamic team. This role requires a strong ability to read plans and specifications, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. Responsibilities
- Daily measurement and tracking of installed quantities for Field Quantity Tracking & Reporting, preparing reports for billing, production analysis, and forecasting.
- Ensure full compliance with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), environmental permits, and regulatory requirements through inspections, BMP tracking, and documentation.
- Coordinate deliveries and maintain inventory logs for Material Inventory Management, assisting with procurement and tracking of long-lead and critical-path materials.
- Prepare daily reports and maintain photo logs for Field Documentation & Reporting, documenting construction activities for records, claims, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with Project Manager, Superintendent, and foremen to support field operations and resolve schedule or quality issues in Project Support & Coordination.
- Manage RFI/submittal tracking, field sketches, as-built documentation, and work plan development for Document Control & Technical Support.
- Enforce safety protocols and environmental controls per contract and regulations in Safety & Environmental Oversight.
- Support punch-list tracking, as-built submittals, and turnover documentation during Job Closeout.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in heavy civil construction, including roadways, utilities, grading, and sitework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, HeavyJob, and Viewpoint V6 is a plus.
- Strong organizational, self-driven, and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience in construction management and project management.
- Team player with strong field awareness and understanding of construction processes.
