Senior Project Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support continued growth in the Solid Waste industry at their Medford, New Jersey office. This role involves managing clients and projects, mentoring junior staff, and overseeing the development of technical reports and engineering design documents. Project management responsibilities include delegating tasks, tracking financials, and reviewing technical documentation. The position offers some flexibility for remote (at-home) work.

As part of the Mid-Atlantic regional team, you will collaborate with professionals across Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and Virginia. Key Responsibilities

Environmental Solutions:

Lead efforts in permitting, design, and construction

Work on municipal solid waste landfills, landfill gas and biogas systems

Support projects involving transfer stations, recycling, composting, and organics management

Conduct waste minimization studies and sustainable materials management initiatives

Project Management:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and projects

Coordinate with regulatory agencies and lead permitting efforts

Develop strategies to address complex technical challenges

Mentor and delegate to junior staff to support their professional growth

Review and finalize designs, drawings, calculations, and permit documents

Business Development:

Lead or support client prospecting and relationship development

Draft and review proposals and cost estimates

Expand project opportunities with existing clients

Represent the company at technical conferences and trade shows

Participate in professional associations and committees

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering degree

P.E. registration required

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience specific to the solid waste industry such as landfill gas management, air compliance, landfill design and permitting, landfill operations support, or compost facility operations is required. null
